Can I access my projects on all my devices?
Yes, of course. You can access your projects on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac as long as you have the application installed and use the same iCloud Drive account on all your devices.
Please keep in mind that to have the app on all your devices, you will have to buy it separately for Mac and iOS. The app is universal for iPad and iPhone, but not for Mac.
Do I need separate purchases for iOS and MacOS?
Story Planner syncs across all your devices, but it requires two different purchases: one for iPhone & iPad, and another one for Mac.
When Apple added the Universal Purchase option back in 2019, we had to choose between keeping the separated purchases for the two platforms, or remove the macOS version from the Mac App Store and create a new one with the same ID as the iOS app. Doing this, we would be leaving everyone who had bought Story Planner for macOS over the years with no possible updates. They would have to purchase it again, and we consider it’s not fair for them either.
Besides, we would have to set a new price for the Universal Purchase. The iOS App Store and the macOS App Store are different platforms. They require independent development for each version of the app, as well as maintenance and support. A universal price would make the iOS version more expensive if you, for example, only want Story Planner on your iOS devices.
Those are the reasons why we offer separate purchases. We hope you understand.
Why a different price for Mac?
Please note that the price of the Mac version is slightly higher than the iOS version. The reason is that the development for macOS and iOS is independent, and the Mac version development is more complicated and time-consuming. Besides, we chose the option of two separate prices instead of a higher universal price because we know that many users only need one of the two platforms. This way, they don’t need to pay a higher price to use Story Planner only on iOS/iPadOS or macOS. We hope you understand.
Can I try Story Planner before buying it?
There is no trial version right now, but you can check out our help page or contact our support team with questions on how the app works. If you end up not linking Story Planner after a purchase, you can ask Apple for a refund.
I purchase the app on the App Store. Do I have to pay for a membership?
No, you don’t. We went to a subscription model for a short time last November 2019, because we thought it would be a way to help us keep improving the app. However, our users let us know that they did not like this model, so we decided to go back to the previous model. It seems we were wrong, and so Story Planner is a one-time price app again.
Does Story Planner support Family sharing?
Yes, it does. You can share the purchase of Story Planner with all your Family Sharing members.
How to Request a Refund
We cannot give refunds ourselves, but you can ask Apple for one.
When you purchase an app from the App Store, only Apple has access to the purchase information that is associated with your Apple ID. To protect your privacy, these details are not shared with developers. As a result, we cannot issue refunds ourselves.
If you are not happy with Story Planner, you need to request a refund from Apple. You can find Apple’s guidelines on refunds here: Request a refund for apps or contents that you bought from Apple.
Do I have to pay for a subscription to use Story Planner?
No, you do not need to pay for a subscription to use Story Planner. In November 2019, we introduced a subscription model to help us improve the app. However, after receiving feedback from our users, we realized that they did not like this model. Therefore, we decided to revert back to the previous pricing model, which is a one-time payment for the app. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience caused.
I bought a subscription, but the app has a one-time price now. What happens with my subscription?
Nothing. We won’t charge you again when your subscription expires. You will be able to continue using the app as before, with full access, for good.
You can still see and manage your subscriptions on your Apple ID Account: https://support.apple.com/HT202039
