How to Export Projects in Story Planner

How can you export a projects in Story Planner?

In Story Planner, you can export your projects in different ways. On the one hand, you can go directly to the export and print tool. To do this, tap the three-dot icon in the upper-right corner of a project and go to Export/Print. This will open the menu where you can choose the destination — PDF, Word, Rich Text File, Scrivener, Final Draft, TXT, or Print — as well as the document’s appearance and the parts of the project you want to export.

You can also export a project directly from Revision Mode. In this case, only the information you are displaying in this section will be exported, such as the outline of your scenes or your draft itself.

How to export projects to Scrivener?

To export your project to Scrivener, open the project and tap the three-dot icon. Select Export Project, then open the export tool and change the File Format to Scrivener. Finally, save the file, right-click it, and select Open with > Scrivener.

How to export projects to Scrivener for iOS?

To export a project to Scrivener for iOS, open the project and tap the three-dot menu. Select Export Project, then choose Scrivener.

When the iOS Actions Menu appears, tap Save to Files and save the file in On My iPhone > Scrivener or On My iPad > Scrivener. If you use Dropbox to sync Scrivener, you can save it in Scrivener > Dropbox instead.

After exporting, open the Files app and go to the folder where you saved the project. The file will be exported as a .zip, which Scrivener for iOS cannot open directly. Press and hold the zip file, then tap Uncompress. This will create a .scriv file.

You can delete the original zip file and tap the .scriv file to open it. Your project will then be available in Scrivener for iOS, ready to use.

How to export projects to Ulysses?

On iOS, open the project you want to export and tap the three-dot menu. Select Export Project, then tap File Format and choose Word. You can also customize the appearance and choose which content to include in the export.

Tap OK, then select Copy to Ulysses from the iOS Actions Menu. If you do not see this option, tap the More button and choose Copy to Ulysses from there. Your project will then be imported into Ulysses.

On macOS, open the project, tap the three-dot menu, and select Export Project. Choose Word as the file format, then save the file to your computer. Once exported, right-click the file and select Open with > Ulysses.

How can I print a project?

To print a project in Story Planner, open the project and tap the three-dot menu. Select Print Project, then follow the Apple printer options on your device.

Please note that your device must be connected to a printer. If you are using iOS, your printer must support AirPrint.

How to customize your project before printing

If you want to customize the layout or content before printing, export your project as a PDF or Word file instead. To do this, select Export Project rather than Print Project.

When exporting to PDF or Word, you will be able to choose different configuration options and customize the content and appearance of your project. Once the file has been exported, you can print it in your preferred format.
